Types of Concerts


There are many different types of concerts and they are differentiated based on the number of performers, instruments used, genre of music being performed or other factors. Here the most common types of concerts:

Chamber Orchestra Concerts

QC Choir - Chamber Orchestra

This orchestra is the type of concert composed of 40 or fewer musicians that perform with or without a conductor. The other types of chamber orchestras are based on the number of musicians, the kind of instruments used in the type of music performed.

Children's or Family Concerts

This concert is less formal and shorter than others. There are young instrumentalists belonging to a school, church or a family of musicians. The number of reformers, the types of instruments and the repertoire varies. This type of concert appeals to the whole family.

Choral Music Concerts

This is a type of performance that highlights the scale of an instrumentalist or a vocalist. Typically recitals pertain to a solo performer but it can feature two or more that play an instrument together or two or more singers.

Symphony Philharmonic Orchestra Concerts

QC Choir - Symphony Philharmonic Orchestra Concerts

This type of concert features a large number of musicians that are led by conductor. Each instrument family is represented, brass, woodwinds, percussions and strings. Sometimes there are additional singers or a chorus.
